The Council of the EU adopted the 21st package of Russia sanctions on July 23, extending trading bans to 14 overseas crypto-related platforms and entities: Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, Exnode / Exnode Pay, HTX, EXMO, A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa and PilotFinance. They are registered in Georgia, Panama, the UAE, the Marshall Islands, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus. For the first time, the regulation empowers the EU to impose blanket restrictions on crypto asset services in a third country if platforms based there help Russia bypass sanctions. This round adds 218 sanctioned targets in total, the largest batch in nearly four years.
