Strategy announced the launch of the Bitcoin Security Consortium, with founding members including BlackRock, Coinbase, Galaxy, Anchorage, ARK Invest, Blockstream, Block and Digital Asset. The consortium pledges to invest USD 15 million in the next three years to support Bitcoin developers and security research. It stated that the initial priority will be the potential impact of quantum computing on Bitcoin cryptography, and stressed that the consortium will not take control of Bitcoin development, but will back the long-term work of existing open-source developers and researchers.
