MetaMask officially announced that Consensys Software Inc will be split into two independently operated companies. MetaMask will focus on the consumer platform, with Joseph Lubin serving as Chairman and CEO. The protocol and institutional infrastructure business, including Linea, will be managed by the newly established Consensys, and Lubin will serve as Executive Chairman. MetaMask stated that existing users’ applications, assets, private keys and access rights remain unaffected, and no action is required from users.
