Mobile Payment Network News: Recently, Wuxi Metro has fully launched the 'tap‑to‑pay' service using digital yuan hardware wallets. Digital yuan hardware wallets issued by eight operators, namely China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, Postal Savings Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank and Industrial Bank, can be swiped for gate access at any Wuxi Metro station.
Wuxi Metro has long been promoting digital‑yuan‑based payments. Back at the end of December 2025, its transit‑code function was officially launched on the digital yuan App. Meanwhile, the 'Maxing' App added the quick‑payment function for digital yuan wallets. Citizens only need to open the digital yuan App and show the payment code to pass through the turnstiles. This made Wuxi the only city in the province supporting digital yuan soft‑wallet transit services from all eight authorized operators.
Now its payment system has been upgraded again. On August 26, the whole Wuxi Metro network supported tap‑and‑go payments with digital yuan hardware wallets. Passengers do not need a mobile phone or internet connection; they can simply hold the hardware‑wallet card near the sensor area of the turnstile for fast access. From scanning codes to tapping cards, from soft wallets to hardware wallets, Wuxi Metro has realized comprehensive full‑mode coverage of digital‑yuan payment solutions.
