According to CCTV News, Donald Trump has renewed threats to resume military strikes on Iran. In an interview on the 27th local time, the US President stated that he had decided to pause US military strikes against Iran to grant one more chance for diplomatic negotiations. He stressed that if diplomatic efforts end in failure, he may order the resumption of military operations targeting Iran.

Trump remarked: “We are engaged in very intensive negotiations with Iran. If we fail to reach an agreement, we will revert to very robust military actions.” When asked how long he was willing to allow for diplomatic attempts, he replied: “Time is limited. Either we achieve rapid progress, or the talks collapse completely.”

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei denied the claim that Iran had requested negotiations with the United States, pointing out that the US had breached the memorandum of understanding. Mediators might relay messages from the US side to Iran, yet no negotiations are underway between the two countries at present.
