英國央行（BoE）正考量重新檢視針對英鎊穩定幣所擬定的監管方案。副總裁Sarah Breeden表示，央行正研擬個人與企業穩定幣持有上限的替代方案，並評估「儲備資產至少40%須存放於英國央行且不計息」之規定是否過於保守。

先前數位資產產業警示，嚴格限製將抑製市場普及，並使英國發行代幣失去經濟競爭力。根據2025年11月的諮詢文件，原規劃個人持有上限為2萬英鎊，企業持有上限約1350萬美元。

The Bank of England (BoE) is considering revising its proposed regulatory regime for sterling‑backed stablecoins. Deputy Governor Sarah Breeden stated that the central bank is exploring alternatives to individual and corporate stablecoin holding limits, and evaluating whether the rule requiring at least 40% of reserve assets to be held interest‑free at the BoE is overly conservative.

Previously, the digital‑asset industry warned that strict restrictions would curb adoption and make UK‑based tokens less economically competitive. Under a November 2025 consultation paper, the original plan capped individual holdings at £20,000 and corporate holdings at approximately $13.5 million.
