Ethereum co‑founder Vitalik Buterin posted that EIP‑8141 (Frame Transactions) has achieved substantial progress over recent months. Still in Draft status, this proposal introduces a new transaction type that splits transaction validation, gas payment and execution into multiple Frames. At protocol level, it enables custom account signatures, gas sponsorship, batch transactions, and paves the way for future migration to quantum‑resistant signature schemes. Vitalik added that ethrex has spun up a corresponding testnet to test Frames, FOCIL and associated EIPs. Combined, these primitives will better support privacy‑protocol deployments on Ethereum.
