歐洲議會經濟暨貨幣事務委員會（ECON）表決通過有關建置數位歐元的立場文件，投票結果為43票贊成、14票反對、1票棄權。歐洲議會指出，數位歐元能為民眾與企業提供兼具隱私與安全性的支付工具，同時降低歐盟對境外支付服務商的依賴。路透社報導，倘若歐洲議會全體會議未提出異議，議員將與歐盟理事會、歐盟執委會展開三方談判，目標於今年底前完成最終法案核准流程。

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) of the European Parliament adopted its position on establishing a digital euro by a vote of 43 in favor, 14 against and 1 abstention. The European Parliament stated that the digital euro will offer private and secure payment options for citizens and businesses, while lessening the EU’s reliance on external payment service providers. Reuters reported that if no objections are raised at the plenary session of the European Parliament, MEPs will enter negotiations with the Council of the EU and the European Commission, aiming to finalize the approval process by the end of the year.
