The EU's executive body is pushing to grant the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) greater authority to directly supervise all crypto asset service providers operating within the EU. This draft is planned to be released as early as next month, which may change the current model of decentralized management by regulatory authorities of individual member states. Instead, ESMA will be uniformly responsible for the supervision of crypto enterprises and the issuance of licenses.
