According to the Financial Times, institutions such as the American Bankers Association (ABA) and the Bank Policy Institute (BPI) are pushing for revisions to the newly passed GENIUS Act. They argue that the act contains a regulatory loophole allowing trading platforms to pay returns to third-party stablecoin holders, which could lead to deposit outflows of up to $6.6 trillion from the traditional financial system, weakening credit supply and driving up borrowing costs.
