According to Reuters, China is considering allowing the use of RMB stablecoins for the first time. The State Council is expected to review and possibly approve a related roadmap this month, clarifying regulatory responsibilities, setting global usage goals, with Hong Kong and Shanghai taking the lead in promoting local implementation. RMB stablecoins will be used for cross-border trade and payments, and relevant details may be further discussed during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit to be held in Tianjin at the end of the month.
