According to The Wall Street Journal, Arab officials have revealed that the United Arab Emirates is preparing to assist the U.S. and other allies in using force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The move would make it the first Persian Gulf country to join the combat following Iranian attacks.

Officials said the UAE is lobbying the UN Security Council to pass a resolution authorizing such action. A UAE official stated that Emirati diplomats have urged the U.S. and major military powers in Europe and Asia to form a coalition to forcibly open the strait. He added that the Iranian regime views this as a fight for its survival and is willing to drag the global economy down with it by holding the strait hostage.
