The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has elevated post-quantum security to a core strategic priority for the network and set up a dedicated Post-Quantum Team, led by Thomas Coratger and supported by Emile, a cryptography researcher at leanVM. Justin Drake, a researcher at the EF, stated that Ethereum is shifting from a long-term research phase to active engineering implementation. This includes launching biweekly development meetings for post-quantum transactions, operating a multi-client post-quantum consensus testnet, and driving relevant research through two separate $1 million cryptography reward programs, all to proactively address the potential threats that quantum computing poses to wallets and cryptographic systems.
