Ripio, a Latin American cryptocurrency exchange with over 25 million users, announced the launch of wARS, a stablecoin pegged to the Argentine Peso. The token has been listed on Ethereum, Coinbase’s Base chain, and World Chain. wARS allows users to send and receive funds globally without the need for a bank or converting to US Dollars. Ripio stated that it plans to launch similar stablecoins for other Latin American currencies in the future to facilitate cross-border payments using local currencies in the region.
